To mitigate the impact of a terrorist attack that cannot be stopped. This work includes bringing a terrorist attack to an end and increased resilience in order to recover after an attack.
The current threat level from international terrorism in the UK is SUBSTANTIAL,
which means that an attack is a strong possibility. The national advice if you’re caught up in an incident is to:
- Run – if you can
- Hide – if you can’t
- Tell – call police on 999 and warn others to stay away
Watch the counter terrorism film which shows what action to take if you’re confronted with a terrorist situation:
Members of the public should always remain alert to the danger of terrorism and report any suspicious activity to the police on 999 or the anti-terrorist hotline: 0800 789 321.
